ENVELOPE Project Demonstrates Advanced MEC Solutions at IEEE HPSR 2024

On 22-24 July, the 2024 IEEE 25th International Conference on High Performance Switching and Routing (HPSR) took place in Pisa, Italy, focusing on the transformative impact of breakthrough changes in networks and telecommunications on switching, routing, and communication systems. This landmark edition of the conference invited original and innovative research on various topics, including big data, data analytics, cloud services, and machine learning techniques applied to networking.

Among the notable presentations was a demo in the framework the ENVELOPE Project, in collaboration with LINKS and NEXTWORKS partners. Their presentation, titled “Position Aware Dashcam Video Streaming with Zero-Touch Real-Time MEC App Handover,” showcased advancements in edge computing and real-time data management. The demo highlighted how ENVELOPE’s technologies enable seamless handovers and efficient video streaming through position-aware mechanisms in mobile edge computing (MEC) environments.

The conference also explored cutting-edge topics such as autonomous networks, 5G and beyond, IoT, Industry 4.0, social networks, network cybersecurity, and virtualization. The diverse range of discussions reflected the ongoing evolution and expansion of networking technologies and their applications.
