ICCS

ICCS, the Institute of Communications and Computer Systems is the oldest and largest academic Research Institute in Greece. It is the research branch of the School of Electrical and Computer Engineering of the National Technical University of Athens (NTUA), and it was founded in 1989 as an independent, non-profit organization. In ENVELOPE, ICCS is represented by one of its Research Units, the I-SENSE Group. I-SENSE Group consists of more than 150 researchers and has participated in more than 150 Research Projects, both EU funded and National ones, in the last 20 years.
 
ICCS is the Project Coordinator of ENVELOPE, the technical co-manager and Quality assurance and risks management leader. ICCS leads seamless integration activities across trial sites, as well as work on predictive QoS. It contributes to ATSSS-related project developments and further leads Dissemination activities and events.

Fondazione LINKS

Fondazione LINKS operates at national and international level in the field of digital transformation with applied research, innovation and technology transfer activities. LINKS is a dynamic and constantly evolving organization that generates value for the territory through the expertise of 180 researchers and a strong network of more than 2,500 partners in Italy and Europe. It deals with technical-scientific disciplines in the fields of engineering and architecture to carry out projects in several application domains: from Industry 4.0 to Cybersecurity, from Intelligent Mobility to Agrifood, from Space Applications to Medicine and Well Being, from Smart Cities to Cultural Heritage.
In ENVELOPE, LINKS is responsible for the Italian trial site and the related use cases. In the specific, LINKS’s technical activities are focusing on advancing its V2X OBU to be ready to exploit features offered by beyond 5G systems. A further task of LINKS is the development of applications for demonstrating the use cases of the Italian trial site.

ISI / ATH

The ISI, a public research institute founded in 1998 in Patras, Western Greece, operates within the Patras Science Park. Since 2003, ISI has been part of the “Athena” Research Center, under the G.S.R.T. Within the ENVELOPE project, ISI aims to leverage its knowledge to publish papers in academic journals and conferences based on trials, KPIs, and lessons learned. ISI collaborates with SMEs and industrial partners to promote project achievements. It leads activities related to the Data Management Plan, Use Cases’ Refinement and Specifications, and Large-scale Technical Evaluations, while contributing to various project tasks.

Commsignia

Commsignia is the largest company focusing on vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technology. The company unlocks the full potential of ITS and ADAS systems with cutting-edge V2X SW/HW products and services to improve road safety and efficiency for connected and nonconnected road users. V2X-enabled smart intersections provide traffic priority services for emergency responders and city fleets, and V2X is an essential component for self-driving. In ENVELOPE, Commsignia will connect client devices and CCAM services at the Dutch trial site by deploying V2X/V2N services at the test site edge infrastructure and utilizing advanced 5G APIs for optimal service quality in high-demand CCAM use cases. Additionally, Commsignia is keen on helping project dissemination, and as the project’s Technical Coordinator will assist with smooth development, compliance with existing standards, and relevant impact on new ones.

NCSRD

The National Centre for Scientific Research Demokritos (NCSRD) is the biggest research centre in applied sciences and engineering in Greece, and it is a self-governing research organisation under the supervision of the Greek Government. NCSRD consists of five Institutes spanning a broad range of activities, such as information and technology, biosciences and applications, nuclear and practical physics, nanoscience and nanotechnology, nuclear and radiological sciences and technology, energy & safety. It also consists of divisions responsible for administrative and technical support. The staff sum up to approximately 1000 people, including more than 100 graduate students working towards a Ph.D. degree. It is the home of the Greek National Host and a major node in the Greek National Research and Technology Network (GR-Net).
 
NCSRD participates in the project through the FutuRe COmmunication Networks (FRONT) Research Group of the Institute of Informatics and Telecommunications (IIT), which is actively involved in various areas of information technology and telecommunications. Their work ranges from conducting basic research to goal-oriented research, as well as the development and application of processes and products. In the context of ENVELOPE, NCSRD is leading the Greek Living Lab and the corresponding use case in collaboration with OTE. Additionally, the FRONT research group will provide B5GS openness (via network APIs) and edge computing features (e.g., edge discovery and application context relocation) to the advanced CAM services that will be evaluated in the Greek Living Lab.

ERTICO

ERTICO – ITS Europe is a public-private partnership with close to 120 companies and organisations representing service providers, suppliers, traffic and transport industry, research, public authorities, user organisations, mobile network operators, and vehicle manufacturers.
ERTICO embodies thought leadership and fosters stakeholder engagement. Together with its Partners, ERTICO develops, promotes and deploys Intelligent Transport Systems and Services (ITS) through various activities including European co-funded projects, innovation platforms, and international cooperation advocacy. ERTICO is the organiser of the annual ITS European and World Congresses in Europe.
ERTICO is leading WP8 on Dissemination, Communication, Exploitation and International Cooperation. 

FOGUS

FOGUS Innovations & Services P.C. is a thriving SME in Greece specializing in integrating state-of-the-art technological advancements and cutting-edge research in ICT systems. Being a member of 3GPP, ETSI, SNS-IA and ELEVATE Greece, as well as a founding member of ETSI SDG OpenCAPIF, FOGUS has become integral part of the 5G/6G R&D community in Europe. The company brings to research and innovation projects vast experience in experimentation processes and performance analysis, while it holds its own networks and compute experimentation platform for IoT and 5G use cases. Committed to open science and sustainable development, FOGUS is an active partner in open source and collaborative projects. In the context of the ENVELOPE project, the key role of FOGUS is to support the evolution of the Greek B5G/6G trial site towards achieving the project objectives and evaluating the related KPIs.

HPE

Hewlett Packard Enterprise (HPE) is the global edge-to-cloud company \that delivers intelligent technology solutions as a service, spanning Telecommunications, Cloud Services, Compute, High Performance Computing & AI, Intelligent Edge, Software, and Storage. Effective from September 1st, 2023, HPE acquired Athonet Srl, specialized in software-based mobile packet core 4G and 5G solutions, deployable in fully virtualised centralized or distributed environments and interoperable with any 3GPP-compliant RAN. Within ENVELOPE, HPE participates in the implementation of developed solutions into the Italian and Greek trial sites with a focus on the 5G core network, and will participate in tasks related to dissemination and communication.

INC

INC is an SME based in Luxembourg providing consulting services to all actors in the ICT value chain. It has participated in several R&D projects examining the business potential of the developed solutions. INC has actively participated in similar projects since the first phase of 5GPPP projects. In ENVELOPE INC will lead WP7 and all activities related to identifying the business models, their potential and the sustainability of the developed solutions. It will also assess the business potential and provide support to the participants in the open call and will assist in the activities related to the user acceptance.

iquadrat

Iquadrat Informatica S.L. (IQU) is a technology company founded in 1997. Iquadrat offers innovative and customizable platforms that integrate cutting-edge telecommunications and networking technologies for a wide portfolio of emerging applications (Smart homes/cities, energy management, industrial applications, sustainable mobility etc.). Our R&D department is involved in many National and EU-funded research projects and has extensive know-how in B5G technologies, SDN/NFC, AI/ML techniques for distributed network management, cloud native applications and services. IQU in ENVELOPE is the provider/main contributor of a CAM related AI zero touch resource management framework (T3.5), which will provide decision automation services to CAM providers via unified intent APIs (CAM-DE), abstracting the complexities of the B5G ecosystems.

In the ENVELOPE, Lenovo will help shape the platform architecture, laying the groundwork for the successful implementation of Connected, Cooperative, and Automated Mobility (CCAM) systems, playing a crucial role in the project’s overall success.

Municipality of Turin

Turin, a northern Italian city and a hub of innovation, has evolved from its industrial roots to become a finalist for the 2024 European Capital of Innovation Award. Known for its commitment to new technologies, Turin drives urban transformation through initiatives like the Turin House of Emerging Technologies (CTE NEXT), a collaborative platform supporting startups and SMEs with cutting-edge technologies such as 5G/6G, AI, IoT, and blockchain. In the ENVELOPE project, Turin contributes by defining use case requirements, providing 5G-enabled infrastructures, and facilitating testing through permits. It also disseminates project outcomes and promotes local and national open call activities via the CTE NEXT ecosystem. The focus is on advanced automated incident reporting and dynamic collaborative mapping for autonomous driving.

ISFM

ISFM is a “Builder” of New Intelligent Mobility
ISFM missions is to accompany our customers in the study of technical solutions which enable the deployment of innovative mobility services and provide a complete mobility system integrating the manufacture of urban PODs and autonomous shuttles.
ISFM mission with ENVELOPE is to provide a autonomous vehicle for the greek site and provide data that will allow us to test the infrastructures.

eBOS

eBOS Technologies Ltd is an innovative and client-focused Information Technology (IT) SME software house founded in 2003 with head offices in Cyprus and an office in the Middle East. eBOS is dedicated to providing comprehensive and cost-effective technologically advanced e-business software solutions to enterprise customers worldwide. eBOS is heavily investing in beyond the state-of-the-art technologies, thereby accelerating future digital innovation. eBOS has participated in >70 R&D&I EU-funded projects (51 ongoing) during the past 15 years, is the no.1 enterprise in Cyprus in EU-funded projects and among the top 10 SMEs in Europe in Horizon Europe projects, has been awarded 8 International Patents (EU & US). eBOS is also recognized by the EC as a Key Innovator and as a rapporteur representative of Cyprus on 5G/6G Member State initiative.
 
eBOS is the Open Call manager of the project, responsible for preparing and disseminating the two open calls organised by the project. eBOS will lead the selection process and the SubGrant Agreement signature process for over 9 sub-projects between the two rounds of calls.
Additionally, eBOS will lead the task of assessing the potential public acceptance of the ENVELOPE platform, the Use Cases and Open Call projects. Furthermore, eBOS will leverage its wide experience in the market contributing to the elaboration of ENVELOPE dissemination and communication plans presenting EVNVELOPE’s results to key associations, and ensuring the impact maximisation and outreach of the results. Finally, EBOS will lead the efforts on the development of a methodology, metrics, and templates to create uniform and effective exploitation plans for ENVELOPE, including defining business metrics, legal rights and obligations, Intellectual property rights procedures, and individual exploitation plans.

COSM

OTE Group is the largest telecommunications provider in the Greek market and through its COSMOTE brand offers the largest 5G network in Greece, , with more than 90% 5G coverage countrywide. OTE considers technology superiority as a strategic pillar, aiming at creating new prospects for Greece’s digital development and fosters all innovation actions towards the establishment of networks with 5G Advanced and 6G capabilities. Sustainability is integrated into the OTE Group’s business strategy and operations as a key priority, and focusing on Climate Neutrality, Circular Economy throughout the Value Chain, Inclusion and Equal Opportunities at Work, and Digital Society for all.
OTE is supporting the Greek trial site by designing and developing together with NCSRD the appropriate extentions to the Athens 6G experimentation platform, and is collaborating with the project’s partners NCSRD, ICCS, FOGUS, ISFM to deliver the use case for ‘MEC handover between multiple PLMNs’.

NEXTWORKS

Nextworks is an SME located in Pisa, Italy. The company’s research team features high-expertise in implementing solutions for AI-driven management and orchestration of 5G/B5G networks and services, integrating IoT platforms and far-edge nodes in the compute continuum. Nextworks has vast experience in Building Management Systems, Home Automation, Energy Management, with its Symphony IoT platform commercial product.
Nextworks actively participates in EU and ESA funded research projects, as key investment to develop know-how on selected cutting-edge topics.
In ENVELOPE, Nextworks contributes to the development of the Italian pilots, providing solutions for network capabilities exposure, edge orchestration and AI-driven CCAM service management.

SIEMENS

Siemens Industry Software Netherlands, is one of the leading simulation software supplier for virtual verification of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) and autonomous vehicles.
Validating the safety and reliability of CCAM solutions could require up to billions of testing miles, including all possible scenarios under all possible circumstances. This is only feasible if the bulk of the validation work is done virtually – faster than in real-time – using simulation.
In ENVELOPE, Siemens is planning to enhance the existing virtual verification and validation platform with a Digital Twin (DT) applied for CCAM, considering a continuous integration and continuous deployment approach. Siemens could be seen in this project as an end user of advanced communication technologies contributing to the development of CCAM.

LUH

Leibniz University Hannover (LUH) as a university will exploit the know-how in the area of multi-path communications and its expertise on machine learning for scheduling and control of network traffic.
In ENVELOPE, UDE will mainly participate in the activities in the area of multi-connectivity for the Greek site by providing ATSSS like functionalities enabled at the UE and at the core, with the help of an intelligent multi-path scheduler. These functionalities will enable the UE to do selective duplication or steering of traffic between 3GPP-compliant 5G and non-3GPP compliant (such as Wi-Fi) access networks, in order to provide lower latency and increased reliability. Additionally, UDE will lead the efforts in Task 3.3 on developments to enable simplified and advanced interaction of CAM vertical services with the B5GS.

TEORESI

Teoresi was founded in 1987 in Turin as an IT consultancy. Today, the Teoresi Group is an international engineering company with approximately 1100 employees working in a total of 20 offices in 4 countries. TIM

TIM Enterprise is TIM’s business unit offering companies and public administrations innovative, sustainable and secure all-round digital solutions. It transforms Connectivity, Cloud, Cybersecurity and IoT technology solutions into effective and reliable services and solutions. In this context, connected and autonomous vehicles represent one of the sectors for which significant growth is expected. The ENVELOPE participation aims at identifying network configurations and possible additional functionalities/infrastructures and services to optimize the offer to the players of this market segment.

TNO

TNO is the largest organisation for applied research in the Netherlands, founded in 1932, with experts in dozens of disciplines. TNO focuses on targeted innovation: not developing knowledge for the sake of knowledge itself, but for its practical application in society. It focused on six key areas including ICT (accelerating the digital transformation also with respect to network connectivity) and Mobility & Built Environment (achieving liveable and sustainable cities and surroundings with robust constructions and sustainable use, and smart sustainable mobility). TNO provides solutions for the major challenges facing our societies. The approximately 3300 employees are engaged in innovations, research and data that can be directly applied by companies and governments.
TNO is the leader of the Dutch trial site. TNO will develop 5G core APIs to enable automotive vertical use cases with stringent QoS (latency and/or bandwidth, predictive QoS and/or devce location) requirements. Its 5G Advanced lab environment includes an own 5G Core, several 5G SA radios (gNBs) as well as UEs with various capabilities from different vendors. The TNO 5G core as well as several UEs will be used in the field trials.

VICOM

Vicomtech is an applied research centre for Interactive Computer Graphics and Multimedia located in San Sebastian (Spain). It is a non-profit association, founded in 2001 as a joint venture by the Fraunhofer INI- GraphicsNet Foundation and the EiTB Broadcasting Group. The role of Vicomtech in the market is to supply society with technology by transfer of primary research to industry. Vicomtech’s main research lines lay in the fields of computer vision, computer graphics and interaction; technologies which Vicomtech applies in multiple sectors such as transport, manufacturing, energy, health and entertainment.
Vicomtech leads the evaluations, demonstrations and impact assessment (WP6).
