ENVELOPE at EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025: Innovation, Experimentation and Open Collaboration

The ENVELOPE project is actively participating in the EuCNC & 6G Summit 2025, which will take place from 3 to 6 June in Poznań, Poland. This event brings together two of the most prominent European conferences in the field of telecommunications: the European Conference on Networks and Communications (EuCNC), supported by the European Commission, and the 6G Summit, initiated by the 6G Flagship programme in Finland.
At this year’s summit, ENVELOPE will highlight its ongoing work in next-generation network experimentation, contribute to the technical discourse on 5G-Advanced and 6G development, and launch its first Open Call, aiming to support and expand innovation across Europe.
Exhibition Booth and Demonstration
ENVELOPE will be present with a dedicated exhibition booth led by the Institute of Communication and Computer Systems (ICCS) – Pavlos Basaras, with contributions from NXW, TNO and LINKS. The booth will feature a live demonstration, along with two pre-recorded videos, showcasing the technical achievements and capabilities of the project.
Contributions to Workshops and Special Sessions
ENVELOPE partners will participate in multiple sessions and workshops throughout the event:
Konstantinos Katsaros (ICCS) will present in Special Session 9 (SPS9), titled “Unlocking 5G-Advanced and 6G for Verticals Through Service Based Architecture, Network Exposure and Beyond”, delivering a presentation on “Network exposure for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) Services: insights from the ENVELOPE project”.
In Workshop 4 (WS4), “Results and findings from SNS B5G Large-Scale Trials and Experimentations”, Konstantinos Katsaros (ICCS) will present “Beyond 5G Trials and Experimentations for Connected and Automated Mobility (CAM) Services: the ENVELOPE project approach.”
Dimitris Tsolkas (Fogus Innovations and Services P.C.) will contribute to Special Session 15 (SPS15), “Software-based evolution towards the 6G era in telecommunications”, presenting Chapter 1 of the SNWG white paper, where ENVELOPE has contributed content and insights.
Regular Track Contributions
ENVELOPE will also contribute to the main technical program with the following presentations:
“Experimental Integration of Non-5G Capable Devices into 5G Networks via Untrusted WLAN: the UNIF Approach” by Apostolis Salkitzis (Lenovo) – OPE Track
“The Experimentation-as-a-Service Approach in the ENVELOPE Project” by Matteo Minotti (Fondazione LINKS) – OPE Track
“Dynamic QoS Adaptation via Exposed Service APIs for Advanced CAM Use Cases” by Ramon de Souza Schwartz (TNO) – NET Track
Poster Presentation
“Beyond 5G Network Exposure for the Automotive Sector: the ENVELOPE Approach” by Fofy Setaki (OTE)
Open Call 1: Supporting Third-Party Experimenters
In parallel with its participation at EuCNC, the ENVELOPE project is launching Open Call 1, inviting external experimenters to access the project’s testbeds and receive funding to implement and validate their use cases.
Total budget: €1,350,000
Maximum funding: Up to €300,000 per project (maximum €60,000 per beneficiary)
Feasibility check deadline: 15 June 2025
Final submission deadline: 31 July 2025
The call is open to consortia of up to five legal entities (with at least 50% SMEs) from EU Member States or countries associated with Horizon Europe. It is aimed at SMEs, startups, research institutes, and universities interested in exploring 6G experimentation and vertical applications.
